Laghetto dell'Abisso → Bivacco Speranza
- Night in a bivouac
- Water along the way
Start the day with the easy but long climb to Rocca dell’Abisso, a rockfield towards the top. From the peak, it didn’t look possible to descend towards the North-West ridge, so we went back the same way. Then up to Pierafica of the Normale route, which was very steep and exposed grassfields mainly. Here you encounter water in the Pierafica lakes. From the top the first part of the traverse towards Cima del Sabbione is easy and enjoyable. We reached the saddle after the Breche du Sabion and from there decided to rapell where another piece of rope was left behind. we went around a small section (we probably would have beed better off staying on the ridge) and then went back to the ridge on the last easy climb. From the top to the Bivacco Speranza is a quiet and easy walk. Bivacco Speranza was empty and cozy, with charging station, buckets to collect water from the lake and gas. The traverse ended up being much slower than expected and took us 6 hours.
